About Allen's Tree Services Inc

Cookeville turns loose all at once in April — dogwoods white along the Depot streets, Dogwood Park filling up at lunch, every yard suddenly asking for something. Allen's Tree Services keeps a spring calendar of pruning cuts made while the sap is still deciding, thinning a silver maple so the wind has somewhere to go. There's removal work too, and trimming, and the cleanup that follows the first thunderstorm line to come over the plateau rim. Up here the soil lies thin over limestone, and a shallow-rooted tree leans before it falls, which is the kind of thing you want to catch early. Nothing about the result is loud: a yard opened to light, sawdust off the walk, brush gone before supper.
