Out past Collegedale toward Apison the lots run long and wooded, pine and hardwood crowding close to the gravel, with a hundred yards between the road and anybody's front door. Timbermen Services plows that kind of distance — pushing snow off tree-lined driveways, opening the turn at the top, clearing paths to the shop and the woodpile, and salting where canopy shade holds ice past noon.
