Southern Elite

About Southern Elite

Snow does not visit Clinton often, but when a February system comes over the ridges it can lay an inch on the valley and more up high, and every drive in town needs opening at the same hour. Southern Elite works both halves of the year — plowing, shoveling walks and drives and spreading salt against the ice in winter; mowing, edging, trimming and seasonal cleanups the rest of it. There is a particular hush to a Tennessee snow morning before the sun gets to it, and a particular pleasure in leaving a driveway black and passable. Then March turns, the grass wakes, and the route begins again. Clinton and the towns around it, cold months and green ones.
