About All Dry of Chattanooga

Winter comes to this valley as fog first and ice second — the river curls around Moccasin Bend under a white lid at four in the morning, and an hour later the pavement downtown has gone glassy without a single flake falling. All Dry of Chattanooga works those freezing-drizzle nights, plowing lots, opening driveways, shoveling entries and stairs, and laying salt where a thin glaze causes more trouble than a foot of snow ever could. It is patient work done in the dark, while the aquarium lights are still the brightest thing on the waterfront. The eight o'clock traffic never learns what the road was like at five. That is exactly how it should be: a doorway no one slips on, a lot that opens on time.
