Moodys Backhoe & Dozer

About Moodys Backhoe & Dozer

Close by Byrdstown, the Pickett forest hides sandstone arches among its hemlocks, and on a clear night the sky above it goes deep enough to show the Milky Way. Moodys Backhoe & Dozer handles two kinds of work in town: mowing yards when summer comes on thick and green, and plowing out drives when winter drops snow across the county. In June that means even rows, trimmed fence lines and the smell of cut grass drifting over the yard at dusk. In January it means a drive scraped to bare gravel and the snow shoved well back from the mailbox. Running heavy machines with a light touch is a craft all its own, and it shows on both ends of the calendar.
