Freedom Excavating & Land Clearing

About Freedom Excavating & Land Clearing

January on the ridge roads east of Athens is a different animal than January in town — gravel drives climb, the shade holds ice all day, and the Cherokee National Forest edge stays white long after the valley has gone back to brown. Freedom Excavating & Land Clearing takes on the snow side of that country: plowing, opening long driveways, clearing turnarounds and treating the slick spots with salt. Nobody watches the work happen, which is rather the point; the drive is simply passable at daylight. Winter here can pass in an afternoon or sit for a week, and both are worth being ready for. Athens, Englewood, Etowah and the hill roads around them are on the list.
