Late fall on Cheatham Lake the water goes slate-colored, the maples and hackberries let go all at once, and every yard in the county fills overnight. Landscaping handles both halves of that turn — leaves cleared and hauled, a last low cut before dormancy, edges tidied so a yard looks intentional all winter. Then when the first hard freeze comes in off the lake wind, drives get plowed and walks get salted, and the truck is out ahead of the school buses. Once the ground wakes again it goes back to mowing and trimming on a set rotation. Ashland City and the lake roads nearby make up the round.
