About C

The first cut of the year in Arlington lands somewhere in March, when the fescue has woken up and the mornings still carry a chill off the open fields. C works the quiet cul-de-sacs on the north side of town — mowing, edging drives back to their true line, hauling off a winter's worth of sticks and matted leaves. It is a plain transformation and a genuinely good one: a yard that looked tired on Monday reads as tended by Friday. Through the long green months the route simply keeps its rhythm. Grass grows fast in this soil, and showing up is most of the craft.
