About King Excavation and Tree Services

Altamont rides the top of the plateau where the hardwoods run out to the rim of Savage Gulf and fog settles into the coves below town. King Excavation and Tree Services works that high country — removals on ground that drops away behind the house, trimming that keeps a hickory off the porch roof, pruning that gives an oak a better shape for carrying snow. Plateau ice is its own kind of trouble, and the days after a storm go to opening lanes and hauling limbs until a place can be lived in again. The reward is straightforward: a clear drive, a sound tree, a yard put back together before the light goes. Around Altamont and the mountain communities nearby, that is the whole of it.
