About Glacial Lakes Erosion Control, LLC

The Coteau des Prairies left this county in ridges and kettles — glacial hills, potholes, sloughs, and a great deal of ground that wants to move downhill every April. Glacial Lakes Erosion Control, LLC works that geology directly: slope stabilization, silt fence and erosion blanket, grading and swales that route runoff where it can do no harm, and seeding to knit the soil back together. Bare dirt is a temporary condition; the job is getting roots into it before the next hard rain arrives. There is a quiet pride in coming back a year later to a hillside green and holding, the gullies healed, the culvert running clear. Water around Watertown always finds a way — the work is deciding which way.
