605 Lawn & Junk

About 605 Lawn & Junk

You hear Falls Park before you see it — the Big Sioux breaking white across ledges of rose quartzite, a sound that carries a long way on a still morning. 605 Lawn & Junk keeps to that same early hour, mowers rolling through north-end yards while river mist is still lifting off the rock. The work is mowing and trimming, edge lines along walks and drives, and the cleanups that bookend a short prairie summer. There is real pleasure in a lawn cut in even rows, the borders true, the concrete swept clean on the way out. Sioux Falls grass grows fast and briefly, and this is a shop that follows it street by street while it lasts.
