About Cricket Lawn Services

By late August the evening comes on slow, the ballfields at Sioux Park empty out, and the crickets take over the sound of the whole town. That is the end of a long mowing day for Cricket Lawn Services — mowing, string trimming, edging and blowing down, yard after yard across Rapid City. Grass here grows in bursts tied to whatever storm last crossed the Hills, so the route bends to the weather more than to the calendar. Spring and fall cleanups bookend the season, hauling off what the cottonwoods and the wind leave behind. There is a plain satisfaction in a street of finished lawns at dusk, every line still readable in the low light.
