West Boulevard's old brick homes sit under bare elm branches for most of the winter, and it's along that stretch that Action Power Washing and Snow Removal starts its afternoon route once a storm has finally let up. Rapid City can go from a foot of fresh snow to bright sun and dripping eaves within a day, and the same crew that pressure-washes siding and sidewalks every summer switches to plows and shovels the moment the forecast turns, clearing the long driveways and wide front walks the historic district is built around. Snow comes off the pavement in clean strips down to the brick and stone, salt goes down on the north-facing steps that never quite catch sun in January, and piled snow gets hauled clear when a corner lot has nowhere left to put it. Low winter light angles straight down West Boulevard by late afternoon, throwing long shadows across driveways that are, by then, already cleared. The same trucks reach the neighborhoods around downtown and out toward Black Hawk once the boulevard is done.
