North Sioux City sits right where the Big Sioux River gives itself up to the Missouri, in the narrow tip of South Dakota that shares a skyline with two other states across the water. This crew works driveways on both the older in-town streets and the newer riverside developments out toward Dakota Dunes, where houses back up close to the water and catch river fog that lingers longer than it does further inland. Being this close to the interstate means plenty of driveways belong to people who commute across the river to Sioux City for work, so an early, finished clear matters before that morning drive even starts. A storm coming up the Missouri valley often arrives a little different here than it does further out on the open prairie, wetter, heavier, quicker to freeze once the sun goes down. By the time the interstate traffic is moving at full speed, the driveways along these river streets are already down to pavement.
