Matt's Lawn Service

About Matt's Lawn Service

Saturday, the middle of July, and a mower is already running somewhere off the highway. Matt's Lawn Service moves block by block through North Lawrence and the small towns around it, mowing yards, trimming the strips along the alley, edging where concrete meets grass. The hills throw shade early on some streets and hold the heat late on others, so the route follows the sun about as much as it follows the map. Grass cut, walks blown clean, gate latched on the way out — that is the whole of it, done one yard at a time. Come fall the same route runs again with a rake and a cleanup, and the yards go into winter squared away.
