Milbank has quarried granite and hauled gravel out of local pits, and the same crews that move that stone in summer swap their trucks over to plow blades once the ground freezes solid each winter. There's an ease to it: machinery built for shifting rock and gravel handles a heavy, wind-packed drift without much trouble.
