About Johnson Dirt Works, Inc.

Johnson Dirt Works spends the warm months moving earth, so winter in Hurley is simply a lighter material on the same blade. This is Turner County farm ground, dark-soiled and level, where grain bins and shelterbelts break the horizon and a March storm can bury the gravel just as the fields begin to dream of planting. When that happens the equipment rolls out, and the snow is shoved back where it belongs so drives and yards breathe again. There is honest pleasure in a clean cut through a hard-packed drift, its wall standing straight as a freshly dug trench. Hurley is a close-knit place, and keeping its ways open is neighborly work.
