About Pleasant Lawn Cemetery

Evening light comes in long and gentle across the high prairie around Geddes, a Charles Mix County town not far from the broad Missouri River. Pleasant Lawn Cemetery does lawn care in Geddes, and its name alone carries the feeling of grass kept with patience and respect. The plain tasks of the work are mowing and trimming, done so the green lies smooth and unhurried. Late May brings peonies and long, soft dusks to Geddes, and well-tended grass is the backdrop that lets everything else bloom. It is quiet work, and what it leaves behind is a kind of calm.
