Freeman's streets run in the same tight, plain grid as most Hutchinson County farm towns, but it's the grain bins and machine sheds just past the edge of town where Jensen's Haul It All Service spends a good part of its winter workday. Open ground on every side of Freeman lets wind refill a farmyard drive almost as fast as it's cleared, so hauling the snow away rather than just pushing it aside matters more out there than it does on a town lot. By the day's end, a cleared farmyard here looks bare all the way to the bin doors, snow banked well off to one side instead of piled against them.
