About Austreim Landscaping

East of Brookings the Big Sioux River moves slow through the cottonwoods, and on a working morning that bottomland is where the light comes up first. Austreim Landscaping takes its cues from ground the glaciers left flat and generous — soil that lets a mowing line run true for a hundred feet without wandering off. The work is lawn care and landscaping: grass held even, beds given shape, borders kept exactly where a homeowner meant them to be. There is a plain pleasure in stepping back at nine in the morning, shadows still long across the boulevard, and seeing a yard that finally looks composed. Brookings rewards that kind of attention, because on this prairie a well-kept lawn is visible from a long way off.
