About Barsness Land Management LLC

The land around Box Elder runs open and mostly flat, cut into neat sections by gravel roads meeting at right angles as far as the eye can follow, and the wind out here rarely lets up long enough for snow to settle where it actually falls. Barsness Land Management LLC works that open ground at a scale built for it — long straight passes along section-line roads and the driveways branching off them, snow pushed into banks the wind reshapes again within the hour. It's a landscape that hides nothing: a storm is visible from miles off, and a plowed road shows exactly how far it runs the moment it's done. A section-line road opened clean to the next crossroads, no drifts left to surprise an unsuspecting truck, is as plain a result as this work offers. As evening settles and the wind finally slows, the roads this crew cleared hold their line against a sky gone the color of a bruise, flat and dark and unmistakably open.
