Box Elder takes its name from the trees still lining the creek bottoms here, bare-branched and rattling in wind that comes off open prairie stretching north toward the runway lights past town. Aim High Tree Service works those creek-side blocks and the flatter ground beyond them, clearing driveways under a sky that carries engine noise some mornings and nothing but wind on others. Storms move fast across ground this open with nothing to slow them down, so a morning that starts as flurries can be a foot deep by evening, and a driveway cleared at noon sometimes needs a second pass before dinner. Staying ahead of that pace means getting a walkway shoveled and a driveway scraped before the wind refills it, and doing it again the moment the wind shifts. By dusk, with the box elders going black against a fading sky, the cleared driveways along the creek are the only flat, dark stripes left in an otherwise white town.
