About Dakotascape Outdoor Design

Aberdeen sits on the bed of a lake that drained ten thousand years ago, which is why the land here runs so level that a person can watch weather approach for an hour before it lands. Dakotascape Outdoor Design works that generous flat ground the way a painter works a wide canvas — mowing, trimming and edging so a yard has shape and a boundary against all that openness. Spring is the season of intent, when the thaw pulls back and the cleanup crews clear a winter's debris to see what the grass has to work with. Through summer the schedule holds steady, and in fall the leaves come off in a few decisive weeks and get gathered before the first hard freeze. There is a particular pleasure in a trim, well-kept yard set against a horizon that goes on forever.
