Everything worth seeing in a Midlands lawn happens out of sight first. The old sandhill ground west of the Congaree drains quick and holds little, so roots have to go looking, and centipede that greens up slowly in April is only reporting what is going on underneath. Grass Root Technology works from that end — reading the soil, overseeding thin ground, then mowing at the height the turf can actually carry through a West Columbia August. Edging and trimming finish the picture, but the thickness that shows up by June is what was set months earlier. Watching bare patches close in and a lawn stand up dense enough to walk barefoot on is the whole reason for the trouble.
