About HMP Lawn Care

First light in Varnville arrives soft, filtered through fog that sits over the Salkehatchie bottomland until the sun gets a hand on it. HMP Lawn Care rolls out into that hour — dew on the boots, blades set for Lowcountry grass that will keep growing well past September. The work is mowing, edging, trimming around the live oaks and hauling off what falls beneath them, week after week through a season that hardly stops. Hampton County heat asks for an early start and pays it back, and by mid-morning the yards on the town's back streets are cut and squared away. A clean edge along a walk in that early light looks like a drawn line, and that is the whole point.
