About Ground Control

Below Pelzer the Saluda River drops over its shoals and keeps up a steady noise, the sound the mill town was built around. Ground Control mows the yards and banks above that water, where the ground rolls and a slope has to be taken with care. Mowing, trimming and edging on uneven Piedmont ground is a different job than flat work — it takes a route thought out beforehand, and it shows when it is done right. A hillside lawn cut evenly, its margins held tight along the drive, makes the whole property read as one piece. Work runs through Pelzer, Williamston, Piedmont and Belton.
