Between The Edges

About Between The Edges

The best hour in Hammond's Ferry is the blue one just after the sun drops, when the sidewalks hold the last of the heat and every lawn edge shows as a dark, exact line. Between The Edges takes its work seriously right there — at the seam where turf meets concrete, brick, or bed, the place a yard is won or lost. Mowing comes first, then trimming, then the edge cut deep and even so the border stays crisp for the whole week and not just the afternoon. Beds get their outlines redrawn, and the walks get cleared so nothing softens the shape. North Augusta yards look their best when someone has bothered with the last three inches, and that is the whole idea in the name.
