Lawn Have Mercy

About Lawn Have Mercy

August in Moncks Corner will test a person: ninety-five by mid-morning, air like a wet towel, thunder building over the trees by three. Lawn Have Mercy shows up anyway — mowing, edging, trimming and blowing the walks clean while the grass is still putting on an inch a week. Beds get weeded before the heat lets them run wild, hedges get shaped, and clippings get cleared instead of left to mat down. When the season turns and the leaves and needles come down, out come the rakes and blowers. Mercy, out here, looks like a shaded porch and a yard that is already handled.
