About Woodsy Landscaping

There is an hour in McClellanville, late in an October afternoon, when the light slides in sideways through the moss and every blade of grass throws its own small shadow. Woodsy Landscaping likes to do its looking-over then — mow finished, edges cut along the walk, the shell drive blown clean. Out toward Bulls Bay the wind carries salt far enough inland to touch the grass, so the trimming is done with some patience for what grows thin and what grows thick. Fall brings the leaf work, spring brings everything at once, and the yards in between are kept on a steady rhythm. It is ordinary work, and it makes a house look cared for from the street.
