Fire House Yard Works

About Fire House Yard Works

Downtown Lexington keeps its own evening rhythm — the Icehouse Amphitheater filling with folding chairs, Main Street cooling from brick to blue. Fire House Yard Works spends the long day out ahead of all that. Grass cut on the level, the string trimmer run tight around mailbox posts and fence corners, walks blown until the concrete is bare again. In November the willow oaks drop everything at once and the work turns to pulling leaves out of the beds and off the grass. The yards left behind are plain and squared away, the kind you notice from the road without knowing quite why.
