About Carolina Ground and Gear LLC

Carolina red clay is the ground everything in Laurens starts from — it stains a boot, holds a hill, and grows a lawn as green as anywhere once somebody tends it. Carolina Ground and Gear LLC backs the trailer in with the gear laid out for the first real cut of spring, when the fescue is thick and the bermuda is just stirring underneath it. Mowing and edging, the string trimmer along banks where a yard drops toward the road, mulch worked into the beds, every hard surface swept back clean. On rolling ground half the job is knowing which way to take the slope. From Laurens toward Hickory Tavern and Gray Court the reward is the same — a hillside yard that lies down even and holds its line.
