Johnson Grading and Clearing

About Johnson Grading and Clearing

Left alone for a single season, land around Landrum will take itself back: sweetgum seedlings, briar, kudzu creeping over the edge of a field. Johnson Grading and Clearing pushes the other direction, clearing overgrowth and brush, grading and smoothing what turns up underneath, then keeping the finished ground mowed and trimmed. There is a moment on a cleared lot when the last of the scrub goes down and White Oak Mountain appears over the treeline where nobody knew it was hiding. The dirt up here is heavy and moves best when handled with some judgment about where water will want to run afterward. What comes out the far side is open, usable ground and a yard that can be maintained instead of fought.
