Walkers Lawn Care

About Walkers Lawn Care

Come October the light in Lancaster County goes long and gold, slanting through the hardwoods along Gills Creek and the greenway path. Walkers Lawn Care is out in it — mowing what is left of the season's growth, edging the beds back to a firm line, raking and hauling off the leaves that drift up against the foundation shrubs. North of town the ground rolls toward Andrew Jackson State Park; east it flattens out toward Kershaw and the sandhill pines, and the yards change character every few miles. Each one gets read on its own terms: how the grass grows there, where the water sits after a rain, what the shade takes away. The reward comes at dusk, plain and satisfying — a clean lawn, a swept drive, a yard that looks cared for from the road.
