About Rachel Rowell Design Company

A yard has a shape whether anyone drew it or not — the curve of a bed, the run of a fence, the rectangle of a drive. Rachel Rowell Design Company reads Fort Lawn lawns that way and keeps those lines legible: mowing in even passes, trimming where a deck cannot square a corner, edging until the border between grass and hardscape is one crisp cut. In June, when growth is fastest and Piedmont air holds its water all day long, that rhythm counts for the most. Each visit closes with the pads and walks brushed off, nothing left scattered. The pleasure of the work is proportion — grass at one height, edges on one line, the whole yard looking intended.
