About Sparta Lawn Care

Go a few miles northeast of downtown and the ground changes underfoot: Midlands clay gives way to old sea-bottom sand, and the pines out at Sesquicentennial stand up in it as if set by a ruler. Yards in that country are half turf and half needle-fall, and by October the needles come down faster than anyone can keep ahead of. Sparta Lawn Care makes the autumn rounds — raking and hauling leaves, clearing pine straw off grass and beds, mowing right up until the growth finally quits for the year. Fall is also when the soil is ready to be opened, so core aeration and overseeding go in and the thin places fill before the first frost settles over the Sandhills. Late in the day the light comes low between the trunks, and a finished yard glows for a minute before the truck pulls away.
