The Lindsay Company

About The Lindsay Company

In the old streets out toward Pigeon Point the live oaks lean across the pavement and hold their shade all day, and mowing beneath them is a different job than mowing in the open. The Lindsay Company works those Beaufort yards — regular mowing, edging along brick and curb, trimming around root flares and garden borders, and hauling off the leaf and moss litter that oaks shed in every month of the year. Shade turf is patient and particular; it wants a higher deck and a lighter hand, and it repays anyone who pays attention. Summer afternoons build a thunderhead over the marsh and empty it in twenty minutes, so the route bends around the sky. What stays behind is a lawn that reads as tended: even underfoot, edged at every border, swept back to the sidewalk.
