About Mendoza Pinestraw

Come October the longleaf stands around Barnwell let go all at once, and the ground beneath them turns that soft rust color that says the year is turning. Mendoza Pinestraw does lawn care in the middle of all that — mowing, trimming, and hauling the fallen season off a yard so the grass underneath can breathe again. Barnwell's sandy soil drains fast and dries faster, so a lawn here is something you keep by showing up rather than by luck. The reward shows from the mailbox: an even cut, a straight border along the walk, nothing left scattered in the beds. Homes in Barnwell and out toward Kline and Hilda are on the route.
