About Baughman Enterprises

By October the hardwoods above Long Cane Creek go copper, the light over Abbeville stretches long and low, and every yard in the county begins filling with leaves. Baughman Enterprises works through that season and the nine warmer months ahead of it — cutting on a steady rhythm, edging drives and walks, trimming what a mower cannot reach, and carrying off the leaves and clippings when the job is done. Upstate lawns ask for patience: the clay holds water in March, bakes by July, and wants a different hand each time. Getting it right means a place looks tended even in the middle of a wet week, which is a quiet kind of accomplishment. The route runs through Abbeville and the small towns spread out beyond it.
