When the houses out toward Watch Hill start closing up for the year in October, the yards do not get the message. S & S Landscaping keeps after them — the last cuts of the season, leaves off the lawn and out of the beds, everything carried away before the first hard rain mats it down. Through summer it is the steady work of mowing, edging and trimming on properties large and small around Westerly. A yard shut down properly in November comes back easier in April, and that is most of the reason to do it well. Off past Napatree the light goes long and gold by four o'clock, and a raked lawn under it looks like a job finished.
