About Coastal Companies

Westerly sits where the Pawcatuck River lets go of the land and the barrier beaches take over — granite ledge underfoot, salt in the wind off Misquamicut, and downtown streets built from the same stone the quarries gave up. Coastal Companies works that ground year-round, mowing and tending landscapes through the growing months, then turning to snow and ice management when the ocean air stops being kind. There is a particular satisfaction in a lot cleared and salted while the streetlights are still on, in the clean line where blade met pavement, in a property that opens for the day as if winter had simply been asked to wait outside. The rest of the year it shows up differently: turf held even and green, edges reading true, grounds that look cared for from the road. Facilities maintenance and general contracting round out the work, so one crew can carry a place from thaw to freeze and back again.
