A nor'easter comes into West Warwick sideways, off the water and up the Pawtuxet valley, and it fills a narrow street faster than anyone expects it to. Skurka Construction Inc is out in the middle of that, plowing lots and driveways from Natick through Centreville and clearing whatever the wind keeps stacking back against the garage doors. Shovels finish what a truck cannot reach: the stairs, the landing, the short path to the door. Sand follows, laid on the packed spots that will glaze over by daybreak. When the wind finally lets go of the valley, the town is already open.
