At Riverpoint the two branches of the Pawtuxet come together, and on a January morning the water steams while the streets above it lie white and untouched. D'Libro Excavating gets to those streets early — plowing driveways and lots across West Warwick, where the lanes are narrow, the parking is tight, and there is rarely an obvious place to put the snow. That is the craft: pushing where it can actually go, stacking clear of the sidewalk, backdragging a short apron clean instead of burying the garage door. Front walks cleared, steps shoveled, sand laid on brick and granite that ices before anything else does. A mill town has always started early; the plow just makes sure it can.
