Conimicut Point is where the Providence River gives itself over to the bay, and the little light out on the shoal takes the brunt of everything that comes down the channel. The neighborhoods behind it are GH Lawn Services' ground — lawns mowed and trimmed and edged through the warm months, cleaned up when the season turns, plowed when the water wind brings snow instead of spray. Point weather is its own thing: hotter in a July calm, colder in a January blow, always a little saltier than the forecast admits. Grass grown in that air needs a patient hand, and driveways facing that wind need an early one. Both come down to the same idea — the yard ready in summer, the drive open in winter.
