Green Hill Pond turns silver in October, the ospreys long gone south, the marsh grass gone the color of old rope. Seaside Landscaping works lawns and grounds across South Kingstown — mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, hedge and shrub work, and the cleanups that carry a yard into winter and back out of it. Salt air is hard on a landscape near the ponds, and spray off Block Island Sound decides a great deal about what will thrive within a few hundred yards of the water. Knowing how a yard in Snug Harbor differs from one a mile inland is most of doing this well. By the last cleanup of the year the borders are cut in clean and the place is put to bed.
