About Dynamic Landscape RI

February comes into Smithfield sideways, filling the hollows off Putnam Pike and burying the stone walls that run down toward Georgiaville Pond — and somewhere in that dark, before the first commuter turns a key, parking lots and walkways are being scraped back to honest pavement. That is the winter half of the year at Dynamic Landscape RI; the warm half is spent building things meant to outlast it, patios and retaining walls and walkways drawn first in 3D modeling and then set in stone on ground that has carried mill villages and apple orchards a long while. In between runs the steady rhythm of maintenance — mowing, trimming, fertilizing — the care that turns a shaggy yard into something with a crisp edge and a settled look. Smithfield's hills give a landscape crew plenty to argue with: slope, ledge, wet ground near the reservoir. The pleasure of it is in the answer — a wall that sits true, a lawn holding its color into September, a lot cleared and quiet before the sky goes gray-blue.
