Providence keeps its yards close — a strip of green between granite curb and triple-decker, a stone wall shouldering up a hillside dooryard, a driveway running narrow all the way back to the alley. J&J Landscaping and Construction LLC works those small squares like they matter: weekly mowing with the edging cut clean along the walk, aeration and overseeding to thicken what August thinned, fertilization and weed control, mulch refreshed dark in the beds, hedges and young trees pruned back into breathing room. Come October the maples let go above the hill streets and the whole block turns gold and then bare, leaves hauled off, spring prep waiting quietly underneath. Then the same driveways go white overnight, and the plow puts them back — scraped down to pavement before the harbor light has finished coming up over the bay. Nothing loud about any of it; just a yard that looks like somebody is paying attention, one season handed carefully to the next.
