Sweeney’s Lawn Service

About Sweeney’s Lawn Service

Turnpike Avenue runs past the Melville boatyards where the masts stand in winter rows, shrink-wrapped and clinking, and that stretch of road tells you which season Portsmouth is in better than any calendar. Sweeney's Lawn Service works both ends of it. From thaw to hard frost that means mowing, trimming and edging on a steady rotation, beds kept clean, leaves hauled off before they mat down and smother the turf. From the first squall onward it means a blade on the truck, driveways and lots opened, walks shoveled and treated so the ice never gets a foothold. Storms off the bay here can drop wet, heavy snow one week and glaze everything with freezing rain the next, and the plan changes accordingly. Either way it comes down to the same small victory — a clear drive, a sharp lawn, and a property that looks looked-after.
