About Dowding Lawn & Landscaping, LLC

A well-tended property pays its people back a little every day — in the cool of fresh-cut grass underfoot, in a walkway that carries you to the door without a wobble, in a driveway already scraped clean when the alarm goes off. Dowding Lawn & Landscaping works the wooded rises and mill-village streets of North Smithfield, where old stone walls run off into the trees and the Blackstone Valley light comes slanting late through the maples. The week is cutting, trimming and edging; aeration and overseeding; mulch laid dark around new shrubs and flowers; pavers set for patios and walkways; retaining walls stacked to hold a slope in place; limbs taken down from the bucket truck; whole lawns begun again from seed or sod. Autumn turns to cleanups, beds stripped bare and leaves hauled off, and then winter arrives and the work becomes plowing and sanding, on call through the small hours across North Smithfield, Cumberland, Lincoln, Smithfield, Woonsocket and Uxbridge. It is unglamorous, physical work, and it leaves a mark you can stand back and look at: a crisp edge, a level stone, a yard that holds its shape all season.
