The Annaquatucket runs low and bright in summer and half-locked in winter, and the neighborhoods along it ask something different of Ryan's Lawn & Handyman service in each half of the year. Warm months: mowing, edging, trimming, and the cleanups that take a yard from overgrown to orderly in a single afternoon. Cold months: the plow down the driveway, shovels at the walk, salt laid where boots will actually land. There is a good feeling in getting a North Kingstown street opened up before the buses come through. Nothing loud about any of it — just the truck, the headlights, and a path where there wasn't one.
