About Rinaldi Brothers Roofing

A winter storm can leave snow wet and heavy on a house, quick to set hard on a north-facing roof and slow to let go of the gutters. Rinaldi Brothers Roofing works the winter side of that in North Kingstown: snow cleared off drives and walks, emergency roof tarping when a storm opens a seam at two in the morning, storm-damage repair after wind or hail has had its say. The rest of the year they are up on the same houses at the gutters — installation and replacement, guard systems, a cleaning before the November leaves come down off the maples and pack the runs solid — and down at ground level building decks in composite, PVC and pressure-treated wood. Siding too, vinyl and fiber cement and cedar shake, the shake left to weather silver the way old cedar always does. There is a plain, steady pleasure in this work: a downspout running clear through a March thaw, a walk taken down to bare pavement before anyone has to leave for work.
